#Tower of Ten Billion Stars

SANYA, CHINA

Australian-Chinese artist Lindy Lee’s recent public art commission titled Tower of Ten Billion Stars is a further exploration of ancient Chinese philosophies and principles that form the foundation of her work. Using a narrow elongated ovoid form, the sculpture is a representation of the phases of the milky way, a symbol of infinite renewal. Adorned with a scattering of clustered luminous perforations, the sculpture embodies the energy, creativity and productive harmony which comes forth when connection and inclusivity are honoured.

Fabricated by UAP in mirror polished stainless steel with hand drilled perforations, the work acts as a central feature to the hotel, activating the daytime outdoor experience and offering a glowing night time presence.
