Nike Savvas
#In Rainbows
PERTH, AUSTRALIA
Nike Savvas collaborated with UAP on her immersive and joyful installation titled In Rainbows. The work is comprised of over 500 multi-coloured, aluminium rods that are suspended above the escalators in the Terminal 1 arrivals area at Perth Airport. This vibrant work represents the successful ongoing relationship between Nike Savvas and UAP to develop, fabricate and install her creations.
In this work the rainbow signifies hope, renewal, marks a sense of place, and is relevant to the ‘now’ – of the moment. It adds a dynamic experience to the precinct as the viewer moves towards, around and under the work. In this they encounter multiple rainbows with different facets of discovery and experience.
