Woods Bagot

Architects Woods Bagot engaged UAP to develop, fabricate and install a range of unique design solutions for the lobby of Brisbane’s prestigious Waterfront Place tower. 

The lobby is defined by a series of conically rolled sculptural nib walls, fabricated in aluminium with a wet spray finish. A specialised handling and installation method was developed to transport and lift the 4 tonne walls into place without damaging the marble tile floor.

Custom joinery and leather seating are seamlessly integrated with the nib walls to form the security desk and clustered waiting areas. Overhead, snaking sculptural light elements mirror the curves of the sculptural walls below. For another part of the foyer, UAP worked with Woods Bagot’s design team to prototype a finely tuned moire effect in suspended ceiling panels.
