Vera Möller
#The Dragonettes
WOLLONGONG, AUSTRALIA
Australian artist Vera Möller is both painter and sculptor, exploring the relationship between real and imagined natural landscapes. Möller was engaged to develop a public installation within Shell Cove, a coastal community lifestyle development in NSW, Australia. Her work titled The Dragonettes directly references the nearby aquatic environment, with groups of vividly patterned sculptural forms based on the Weedy Seadragon and seagrass beds found in local waters.
Located at the entry of Shell Cove Mall, the work includes 35 stainless steel vertical forms that stand at varied heights, ranging up to 5m tall. UAP’s curatorial team was engaged to develop the creative vision, curatorial framework and artist selection for this project. The UAP design team then worked with Möller to develop, fabricate and install The Dragonettes.
