#Planktonic Self Inflatable

ADELAIDE, AUSTRALIA

Australian artist Tom Moore collaborated with UAP to transform his small scale glass sculpture Planktonic self into a 5m high inflatable. The work was installed outside the Art Gallery of South Australia as a part of the 2016 Adelaide Biennial of Australia Art exhibition titled ‘Magic Object’.

Fundamental to Tom Moore’s creative practice is the ancient craft of glass blowing, from which he creates fantastical and comical hybrid creatures that bridge the gap between plants, animals and machines.

UAP worked with Moore to extend his practice into a new scale and materiality, seen in this large plastic inflatable replica, which was fabricated out of UAP’s Shanghai office.
