Ni Youyu
Born in Jiangxi, China in 1984, Ni Youyu works and lives in Shanghai, China. Over the years, Ni Youyu has been constantly exploring a range of mediums including painting, installation, sculpture, and photography, to form a distinct visual language. Ni Youyu’s works often discuss history and space through the lens of “timelessness”, which is present both conceptually and visually. He works with numerous materials, and often finds thematic inspiration in the everyday, working to change people’s perceptions of overlooked daily life. In 2014, Ni Youyu was awarded the “Best Young Artist” of the Contemporary Chinese Art Award (CCAA).
